Moko Tattoo Studio :: Gary's Bio
I've been tattooing since 1993, working here, there & everywhere, before eventually opening Moko in July 2001.
I'm interested in many forms of art, ranging from the old masters through sculpture to graffiti. I find art in all its forms to be very addictive, once I've started something it plays on my mind until its finished - this trait has both positive and negative aspects, since it ensures I remain dedicated to my work, but forces me to stay up late adding the finishing touches to a design.
I like to work freehand and really enjoy black & grey shaded work, but I can turn my hand to pretty much anything.
My hobbies include oil painting, spray can art, reading & drag racing.
The name Moko came about after the logo; I drew the logo first and then chose the Tongan word for 'lizard', i.e. 'moko'. tattoo related meanings in other languages.
Well that's enough about me, have a nose around the site and call in for a chat - we might even manage a coffee!
